The the new recreational trail will to begin construction early this summer, officials said.

Construction on a new Oso Creek multi-use recreational trail will begin this summer between Forbes Road and the Oso Creek Channel, an Orange County Flood Control District-right-of-way.
The trail will be adjacent to the land where the city's general plan calls for future high-density, mixed-use housing and commercial buildings.
"I'm excited to have this trail go forth," said Mayor Pro Tem Linda Lindholm at this week's city council meeting. "The thought of this as a live-work-play … we'd like to have it connect to the Metrolink station."
The $3,075,844 project received state grants of about $1.4 million and about $883,000 from Orange County Transportation Authority. Construction will begin June 2014 and is expected to finish by June 2015.
"We're looking for funding for the trail connection so you won't have to walk through Crown Valley Parkway," said Director of Public Works Dave Rogers. "The ad hoc committee will discuss both the bridge crossing over Crown Valley Parkway and other alternatives."
