Ocean Festival Sunday Schedule

The events include a waterman/waterwoman competition, sandcastle contest and rubber duck race.



Sunday is the last day of the the 26th Annual Ocean Festival, and there is still lots to see and do:

  •  "GROMS RULE" Surf Contest (ages 14 and under) 6 a.m. - Registration/Check-in at SURF Registration booth, north of pier 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. North of Pier

  • SAND SCULPTURE TEAM COMPETITION 6:30 a.m. Registration & Sculpting, south of pier 1 p.m. - 1:30pm Judging/Viewing (depending on the tides) 2 p.m. - Awards, immediately following judging

  • FISHING DERBY FOR ALL AGES ON THE PIER 6:30 a.m. Registration (on the pier) & Derby – children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult 12:30 p.m. Judging and Prizes

  • CITY LIFEGUARD PANCAKE BREAKFAST 7:30am – 11 a.m.

  • 20th ANNUAL WOODY CAR EXHIBIT 8:30am – 2:45 p.m. On the Pier

  • FREE BODY BOARDING DEMOS  by Catch Surf 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. South of the Pier, next to Children's Pavilion

  • OCEAN ART SHOW 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. in the park, overlooking event

  • CALIFORNIA WATERMAN & WATERWOMAN CHAMPIONSHIPS Main Competition Area-Northside of San Clemente Pier 8 a.m. – 5K Beach Run/Walk 9 a.m. – 11 Biathlon (1K swim & 5K run) 10 a.m. – SUP 3. 5 Mile Race (surf class under 12', 12'6", 14') Noon – One Mile Ocean Swim 1:15 p.m. – San Clemente Waterman Challenge 2 p.m. – 400MRun-400MSwim-400M Run 2:30 p.m. –S.C. Marine Safety WATER RESCUE Demonstration3:00 p.m. – Splash & Dash 

CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES

  • ALL DAY EVENTS:Face Painting, Carnival Games, * Discovery Science Center, and *Ocean Institute booths 8 a.m. – Ticket sales begin for crafts, games and face painting 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Ocean Crafts, Games & Relays sponsored by SC Parks & Rec. Dept. 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Mermaid Parade 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. –"Zumba" with SC Gym - Interactive 11 a.m. – noon -Guillobel Brazillian JiuJitsu - performance Noon – 12:30 p.m.-Mission Viejo Dance & Performing Arts – performance 12:30p.m. – 1 p.m. – "Yoga for Kids" with Universal Yogis 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. –Gavyn Bailey - performance    

  • 20th ANNUAL GREAT RUBBER DUCK RACE 4 p.m. Sponsor ducks are $5 each
