Council Waives Fees for North Beach Rehab Grantees

The program grants funds offer incentive to clean up local business facades.

Council members unanimously approved the North Beach Facade and Rehabilitation Grant program with a 5-0 vote at Tuesday night's council meeting. The program offers up to $1,000 in grants to local North Beach business owners.

The $10,000 grant program was modeled after the successful similar grant initiated in the Los Molinos business district to help business owners improve the aesthetic look.

The motion Tuesday waives inspection fees for grant recipients, allowing them to maximize their grant money.

So far two businesses, the Elks Lodge as well as it's neighboring building, have each received grants for improvements.
