"Starry Starry Night" showcases music and comedy to provide turkey dinners to Camp Pendleton families.

Classic rock and comedy left Marines, veterans and other spectators in awe and stitches Saturday at this year's variety show.
The annual benefit raises money to provide Thanksgiving dinners to local military families.
"This year, the SCMFO is going to send out about 1,300 turkey dinners," said Gen. J.K. Davis, the event's honored guest. "It's a wonderful program."
Held at the San Clemente Community Center, the evening featured comedian Wayne Cotter, a Neil Diamond tribute singer and vocalists from Dana Hills High School's South Orange County School of the Arts program, among others.
Pianist David Dunford wowed the crowd with patriotic classics, and vocalist Taylor Carol belted out "The Impossible Dream" against the starry stage backdrop.
Tribute singer Steve Roth dazzled the crowd with Neil Diamond tunes, including "Sweet Caroline." Comedian Cotter took the stage with a burst of energy to complete the evening's entertainment.
SCMFO "is absolutely the best," said former San Clemente Mayor Wayne Eggleston. "They pour their heart out every year and are very dedicated."
